Pashes Maltese started in 1972. Sheila Meyers and her mother Patsy Stokes attended a dog show and Patsy fell in love with the Maltese shown in the group. They bought their first pet shortly thereafter and have had Maltese ever since. In 1979, Sheila started showing their Maltese in conformation and finished her first champion in 1980. Since then Sheila and Patsy have bred 73 champions to date. Almost all of the their wins have been owner/breeder/handled. They have shown and bred quite a few Maltese that have been very successful in tough competition in the Group ring as well as at Maltese Specialties.
CH Pashes Smile Warning was their first multiple Group and BISS winner. During his Specials career, Smiley was owned by Carol Frances Anderson and shown by Sandy Tremont.
BISS CH Pashes Ramblin Man, also an Mulitple Group and BISS winner, sired BIS/BISS Am/Mex/Int/World CH Pashes Ramblin Rose. Rose is a perfect example of all that Sheila and Patsy strive for in a Maltese. Her elegant outline is beautiful when standing and more importantly when she is moving around the ring. A big emphasis at Pashes is for a healthy structurely sound Maltese, and Rose embodies this philosphy. Her pretty head and gorgeous heavy silk coat are just icing on the cake.
CH Pashes Beau Didley ROM is the top producing Maltese at Pashes as well as being a Group Winner. Didley produced 30 champions by 6 years of age with limited breeding. He is the sire of many specialty winning Maltese. The most famous being Multi BIS/BISS CH Ta-Jon's Tickle Me Silly, the top winning toy dog of all-time. She has won 104 All-Breed Best-In-Shows and three AMA National Specialties as well as multiple regional specialties. She is a Maltese to be proud of not only for owners Marion and Samuel Lawrence and breeders Tammy and John Simon but in memory of her wonderful sire "Didley".
BISS CH Pashes Dream Come True is one of Pashes most recent BISS and Group winner. Truly has a beautiful baby doll head and gorgeous silk coat. Truly and Rose are both now retired from showing and breeding and spend their time relaxing on their satin pillows. Truly's baby boy Ch.Pashes Keeper of the Dream "Keeper" won Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the AMA National in 1998 losing only to his kennel mate CH Pashes Indecent Proposition, "Mr. Bill", who won Best Junior and Grand Sweepstakes.
Pashes has had 8 BISS winners: CH Pashes Smile Warning,CH Pashes Ramblin Man, CH Pashes Ramblin Rose, CH Pashes Full of Surprises, CH Pashes Dream Come True, CH Pashes Magic Miss, CH Pashes Magic Trix plus the newest star Ch. Pashes Dream Phantasy won an all-breed Best In Show and September 2001 he won the Maltese club of Greater Miami Specialty show. One of Phantasy's daughters Ch. Divines Phantasy Doll bred by Angie and Larry Stanberry and shown by Sheila followed in her father's footsteps by winning many groups and the Miami specialty in 2004.These accomplishments are a breeders dream come true.In 2005 Sheila had the privilege of co-owning and sponsoring the #1 Maltese in the country with his breeders Angie Stanberry and Sheila Riley. Ch. Divines Marc of Friendship goes back to Pashes on both sides of his pedigree. He was handled to perfection by Tonia Holibaugh. Sheila and Patsy have won the AMA Top Maltese Co-Breeders Award several times and have many ROM producers.
Above and beyond all the titles, wins and records, the most admirable trait of Sheila and Patsy is their devotion and love of the breed. They are very careful in the placing of their pet puppies. All pets are placed in homes with a spay/neuter contract and AKC limited papers. Their males are not at public stud and very rarely bred to outside bitches.
